Noble Capital Partners with Impact Hub to Address Austin’s Affordability Crisis

August 28, 2018

AUSTIN, Aug. 28, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Noble Capital, a Texas-based private investment firm specializing in private lending, real estate and retirement planning, has partnered with Impact Hub Austin to support the Affordability Accelerator, developing sustainable solutions to Austin’s growing affordability crisis.

Noble Capital has sponsored Impact Hub’s Affordable Housing Accelerator since it launched in August of 2017 and is now partnering with them to support the second round of its Affordability Accelerator. The program provides training and mentoring from industry experts in the tech, real estate and civic sectors, in addition to free workspace for startups, non-profits and individuals with sustainable solutions to the city’s housing affordability crisis.

“Austin is at an inflection point of growth and opportunity,” said Impact Hub Austin Managing Director Ashley Phillips. “Despite our success, the affordability crisis continues. For many Austin residents, housing and transit are large expenses that exhaust resources and limit opportunity. This year’s accelerator focuses on affordable housing and transit in Austin.”

“Housing affordability is something we’ve incorporated into our business model,” said Chris Ragland, COO of Noble Capital. “We incentivize investors who have projects that result in more affordable homes. We’re willing to take on more risk in those deals because the demand for affordable housing is so high.”

Up to 10 groups or individuals will be selected for the 2018 Affordability Accelerator. Participants are selected on their plan’s viability, their background and experience, clear goals for the next 12 months and the ability to measure their plan’s effectiveness. Impact Hub Austin is accepting applications for round two of the Affordability Accelerator until August 24th. Participants will be selected September 12th.

“It’s important to us to support this effort and to put our resources toward furthering the cause,” said Jadon Newman, CEO of Noble Capital. “Affordability is something that affects all of us, as well as our colleagues, family and friends.”
