Police: NY rapist awaiting extradition from Washington state
NEW YORK (AP) — Almost a month after a woman was held captive and raped over six hours in a Queens apartment, police say her alleged attacker has been arrested in Washington state.
Fifty-three-year-old Michael Hosang was awaiting extradition to New York on Friday.
New York authorities say the 29-year-old victim was raped multiple times and her face fractured when she was punched on May 30 in the man’s apartment in Queens’ Laurelton neighborhood. She finally escaped by jumping out a window.
Authorities say the suspect drove off in a pickup truck.
Hosang is being held by police in the Washington state coastal city of Bellingham.
He and the woman reportedly knew each other.
