CALGARY, Alberta (AP) _ Derek Morris’ power-play goal in the second period led the Calgary Flames to a 3-2 victory over the Toronto Maple Leafs on Wednesday night.

With the score tied 2-2, Phil Housley and Flames newcomer Marc Savard set up Morris, who blasted a 25-foot slap shot past goaltender Jason Muzzatti at 4:42.

Housley and Cory Stillman also scored for the Flames, who were 0-2 in the preseason before Wednesday night and had scored but one goal in the two games. Lonny Bohonos and Sylvain Cote scored for Toronto (1-2).

Calgary dominated the game, outshooting the Maple Leafs 30-14.

Flames goaltender Fred Brathwaite got off to rough start when Bohonos scored on the game’s first shot, 1:26 into the first period. However, Brathwaite settled down and gave up just one more goal and made some key saves.

Jimmy Waite was perfect in the Toronto net, stopping all 13 shots he faced after replacing Muzzatti midway through the second period.

Each team scored twice in the first period with the teams exchanging goals in the final minute of the period.

At 19:00, Stillman banged a loose puck past Muzzatti from the side of the crease to make it 2-1. The Maple Leafs responded 42 seconds later when Tie Domi slid a pass to Cote for an easy one-timer.
