BALTIMORE (AP) _ The New York Yankees' bid to clinch their second straight AL East title was delayed by rain Wednesday night.

The Yankees' game against the Baltimore Orioles was postponed after a delay of 30 minutes. Because steady rain was in the forecast, the umpires decided to call the game without a lengthy wait.

The game will be made up as part of a day-night doubleheader Thursday.

The Yankees began the day with a magic number of two to clinch the division crown. Second-place Boston played the Chicago White Sox in a doubleheader Wednesday.
