Mother Indicted in Son’s Slaying
BATAVIA, Ohio (AP) _ A woman accused of beating her 8-year-old son to death as he walked to a school bus stop was indicted Wednesday on murder charges.
A Clermont County grand jury returned the indictments against Rhonda Brown, 41, of Amelia. She was being held on $200,000 bond pending a hearing Thursday.
Brown was accused of killing her son, Jerry Howell, on Friday.
An autopsy showed the boy suffered a fractured skull, lacerated liver and punctured lung, prosecutors said. Coroner Nico Capurro said Jerry died from blows to the chest with a blunt object.
Brown told police she last saw her son when he left the family’s mobile home, about 17 miles east of Cincinnati. His body was found three miles away.
