‘Rehab Addict’ at SHE Expo

September 26, 2018

The star of “Rehab Addict” on HGTV and DIY networks will be in Fort Wayne for the fourth annual SHE Expo, organizers announced Tuesday.

Nicole Curtis will join local celebrity Addison Agen, runner-up on Season 13 of “The Voice,” at the Oct. 27 event, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., at Memorial Coliseum.

SHE Expo is produced by Fort Wayne Newspapers with presenting sponsor Windows, Doors & More. Admission is free.

Curtis will replace Paige Davis, who was originally scheduled to appear but had to cancel due to a conflicting work schedule.

Curtis is a self-taught home rehabber and designer. She has become a go-to lifestyle expert with appearances on “Today” and “Good Morning America.” She has also been featured in print and online lifestyle publications, including the Wall Street Journal, Buzzfeed, POPSUGAR, Everyday Home, Good Housekeeping, Embark and Apartment Therapy.

In 2015, she premiered Nicole Curtis Home, an exclusive line of tools and DIY home improvement essentials on EVINE live.

In October 2016, she released her first book, “Better Than New,” which became a New York Times bestseller. Part memoir and part self-help, the book “goes behind the scenes with struggles and triumphs of being an entrepreneur and a single mom,” a news release said.

“These are lessons she learned through her life story and through the homes she has remodeled.”

Curtis will take the stage from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. and be available for photos and autographs from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Agen will perform from 3 to 4 p.m. and be available for photos and autographs from 4 to 5 p.m.

Other expo highlights include chances to win cash and a hot tub and food samples from local restaurants. Those attending can also purchase the “Fort Wayne Cooks” cookbook, produced by Fort Wayne Magazine.
