Ivo Kresta had 13 points, Jamar Dunmore 12 and Donell Mitchell 11 for the Gaels (8-3), who have won seven of eight.

Reserves Bobby Bok, Frank DeBlasi and Bilal Rodgers each scored 10 points for the Seahawks (5-6), who lost their second straight after a three-game win streak.

Hameed scored 6 points during a game-opening 14-3 run in the first 4:57. Iona, holding Wagner to 8-of-34 shooting, led 45-18 at halftime.

Dunmore and Hameed each scored 4 points during a 12-2 run at the start of the second half, making it 57-20 with 15:51 left.

Jason Roberts' 3-pointer with 14:29 remaining pulled the Seahawks to 57-26 but they never got closer.

Iona's largest lead was 90-47 on a basket by Nakiea Miller with 2:48 to go. The Gaels outscored Wagner 33-8 off turnovers, taking advantage of 27 by the Seahawks.

he game marked the collegiate debut for Miller, a 6-foot-9 freshman from Stratford, Conn., was academically ineligible for Iona's first nine games and sat out No. 10.

Both teams were without high-scoring players for most of the game. Tariq Kirksay, Iona's co-leading scorer (13.0 average), sprained his left ankle 1:52 in and didn't return. Frantz Pierre-Louis, Wagner's second-leading scorer (14.7 average), played just seven minutes and scored one point due to a strained thigh muscle.
