Kids ride in the driver’s seat at Touch a Truck
Hundreds of people attended the Touch a Truck event at Maple Ridge Elementary School in Somerset on Saturday. Sirens and horns sounded across the parking lot has kids played with all of the buttons they could find.
Principal Josh Spangler said that there have been more than 500 people in attendance in the past.
“It’s a great day,” he said. “And we’re glad the rain held off.”
The event featured many trucks from J&J Truck Bodies & Trailers, school buses, police cars, a garbage truck, tractors and snow plows.
Spangler said there were 35 trucks from J&J and 14 other activities. Volunteers read books, blew bubbles and walked kids in a giant inflatable ball.
