Woman faces DUI charge after crashing into police truck
FARMINGTON, Conn. (AP) — Police say a 24-year-old woman crashed into a state police truck while under the influence of alcohol.
The Hartford Courant reports that 24-year-old Alexandra Warzecho struck the back of the truck Wednesday night while driving on Interstate 84 in Farmington.
Police say the trooper was following behind a construction vehicle and had his emergency lights on when Warzecho crashed into the pick-up truck “at a high rate of speed.”
The trooper, 46-year-old Steven Michael Chapman, was taken to a hospital to be checked for injuries. Warzecho declined medical treatment.
Warzecho, of Terryville, faces charges including operating while under the influence and failing to move for an emergency vehicle.
She posted bond and is scheduled to appear in court Sept. 19. It was not immediately clear if she has a lawyer.
