KCC holding spring job fair

Kankakee Community College will host its annual Spring Job Fair from 9 a.m.-noon on April 4 in the KCC College Center at the riverfront campus just off River Road. The event is open to the public. Veterans are encouraged to attend as well. Admission is free.

More than 50 businesses and industries will be at the job fair. Employers will conduct screening interviews for full- and part-time positions. Manufacturers will be available to answer questions, accept applications and resumes, and to demonstrate their products.

“The Job Fair is an ideal setting for students, graduates, veterans and community members to learn more about area employers and current opportunities,” said Ken Crite, coordinator of Career Services. “We want participants to dress professionally, bring resumes and to enjoy the experience of meeting employers from throughout the area.”

If participants need resumes, they are encouraged to visit KCC’s Career Services Center for assistance before the event.

For more information and a list of employers at the job fair, visit kcc.edu/jobfair or call 815-802-8222.

2 local banks rated among top 50

Sheshunoff Investment Banking Company reported recently that two local banks were rated in the top 50 in the State of Illinois Banks in 2018 for financial performance.

Municipal Trust and Savings Bank in Bourbonnais was rated 19th, and The First Trust & Savings Bank of Watseka was rated 43rd. There are 435 banks chartered in Illinois.

“It is a great honor to be ranked in the top 10 percent of all banks in our state,” said President Kerry Bell of The First Trust & Savings Bank in a news release. “It takes a dedicated staff building and strengthening relationships to a very loyal customer base.”

Chartered in 1909, The First Trust & Savings Bank is a $247 million community bank serving Watseka, Clifton and Iroquois County.

Municipal Bank was founded in 1981 as a locally-owned back and provides a range of banking services for residents and businesses in Kankakee County.
