Summer is finally over and it certainly proved to be a very hot and dry one!

I hope that those who live in Utah County will continue to be wise with their water use. Let’s hope and pray that this winter will bring us some good snowfall to build back our water reserves.

Fall is a great time of year and I love to get out and enjoy our amazing mountains and canyons that we have here along the Wasatch Front. My favorite place to enjoy the fall colors is at Hobble Creek Golf Course.

There are many great activities in all of our local communities. This is a great time of year to visit a farmers market and enjoy the amazing local produce that is available to us. Halloween is also just around the corner and the Springville/Mapleton Chamber of Commerce will be sponsoring a Main Street Halloween Party again this year on Oct. 31. The fall youth sports programs are well underway with flag and tackle football, soccer and all of the other sports programs.

The Clyde Recreation Center has been a huge success in our community and classes have continued to be very popular. It is so nice to build something and then to have it used and appreciated for the betterment of our citizens.

The year has been going so fast that I can hardly believe that a whole year has gone by! My first year as the mayor of Springville has been a great experience and I am so appreciative for the residents of this amazing town.

We have some great things happening in Springville right now. There are several new businesses coming to Springville, including Café Rio and Jersey Mike’s Subs, and many other businesses are looking here as well. We are also very excited about Wavetronix coming to town, which will be building a large campus in the west fields. This is a great company and will be a great asset to our business community.
