Sweetheart, Jr. Princess Royalty contest set May 10-11
MANTI — Competition for the Cowboy Sweetheart and Junior Princess royalty for Sanpete County is heating up. Three young ladies are competing for Cowboy Sweetheart and five are competing for Junior Princess Royalty. The two-day contest will take place Friday and Saturday, May 10-11.
On Friday, May 10, at 6 p.m., the contestants will demonstrate horse skills at the Cleone Peterson Eccles Equestrian Center and ConToy Arena, 1000 South 955 West, Mt. Pleasant.
Saturday, May 11, at 10 a.m., each contestant will be judged on their modeling, speech and interviews followed by awards and crowning at Manti City Hall, 50 South Main. Admission is free.
Contestants for the Cowboy Sweetheart royalty are Kaydence McKinney, Fairview, daughter of Brad and Alesa Fullmer and the late Josh McKinney; Sarah Everitt, Ephraim, daughter of Deric and Muria Everitt; and Cambrie Poulsen, Fairvew, daughter or Clint and Jamie Poulsen.
The five competing for the Junior Princess royalty are Bailee Jaques, Mt. Pleasant, daughter of Jared and Randee Jaques; Jordan Brouillette, Manti, daughter of Addam and Nicole Brouillette; Katie Aagard, Spring City, daughter of Eric and Rachael Richardson; Kenley Kelso, Mt. Pleasant, daughter of Kurt and Lindsay Kelso; and McKyah Poulsen, Fairview, daughter of Clint and Jamie Poulsen.
The chosen rodeo royalty will appear in local events, parades and rodeos including the Ute Stampede during this summer, and also during home events where they will reign during the 2019 Sanpete County Fair, Aug. 17-24.
2018 Junior Princess Matti Wanner, Axtell, daughter of Matt and Tiffani Wanner; and 2017 Sweetheart Jessica Everitt, Ephraim, daughter of Deri and Muria Everitt are greatly appreciated for their hard work and everything they’ve done.
