Super Bowl LIII prop bets include Trump tweets, Tony Romo predictions

January 29, 2019

Super Bowl prop bets seem to evolve with the times.

Like every year, bookmakers overseas are offering up some off-the-wall propositions on Super Bowl LIII, and you can recite the traditional ones by now. What color beverage will be dumped on the winning coach? Over-under 1 minute, 47 seconds for Gladys Knight’s national anthem performance?

But there are some even stranger options this year, too. According to USA Today, one prop bet offered by Bovada LV asks how many plays Tony Romo will correctly predict before the snap.

In his second year as CBS’s A-team color commentator, Romo will call his first Super Bowl, two weeks after mesmerizing fans with his predictive prowess mainly on New England Patriots’ possessions.

The over-under is at 7.5. Both sides are getting 5/6 as of Tuesday.

Bovada also wants you to wager on whether a touchdown will be overturned by replaya clear and present danger in today’s NFL, even if defining the catch rule was far less an issue this year than it was in the 2017 season.

Bookmaker.eu is offering odds on whether Maroon 5′s Adam Levine or rapper Travis Scott take their shirts off any time during the halftime show. As of a few days ago, it was +1,862 for Levine and +940 for Scott.

And BetDSI came up with a whole list of prop bets related to President Donald Trump. How many times will he tweet during the game? Will he congratulate the winning team on Twitter before midnight?

Someone at BetDSI came up with a real thinker. Which will be higher: the longest field goal made on Sunday, in yards, or President Donald Trump’s Rasmussen approval rating on Monday, in percentage points?
