Slovenia’s Potisk-ribic wins second gold medal
SEOUL, South Korea (AP) _ Andreja Potisk-ribic won the women’s giant slalom in the Winter University Games today, her second gold medal and Slovenia’s fifth in six alpine skiing events.
``I came down with all my will, concentrating on winning the second medal,″ said Potisk-ribic, also the downhill champion and silver medalist in the super giant slalom.
Potisk-ribic edged Japan’s Junko Yamakawa by 0.42 seconds, finishing with a two-run time of 2 minutes, 18.38 seconds at Muju, 115 miles southeast of Seoul. Also at Muju, Slovakia’s Ivan Batory, Peter Barton, Martin Bajcicak and Ivan Hudac won the 10-kilometer cross-country relay.
At nearby Chonju, Japan’s Satoru Terao took the 500-meter short-track speed skating title, and China’s Wang Chunlu won the women’s 500.
