Instrument selection nights at middle school

May 3, 2019

Every student entering sixth grade at Riverside Middle School for the 2019-20 school year is welcome to attend instrument selection nights at RMS May 13 and 14.

Students interested in learning an instrument, such as string, woodwind, brass or percussion, should plan to attend one instrument selection night at RMS. Details on instruments have been presented at each of the public schools.

Open times are Monday, May 13, from 5-7 p.m. or Tuesday, May 14, from 3:30-5:30 p.m. Appointments may be made online at http://bit.ly/rmsMusic. Walk-ins are welcome, but they will need to wait until a teacher is available.

Parents of students who already play an instrument may call the school at 920-262-1480, ext. 5306, and leave a message. Parents of current fifth-grade students who are interested in trying an instrument but unable to make one of the selection nights may call the same number and extension and schedule an appointment on another date or time. For scheduling reasons, all appointments need to be completed by May 17.

All sixth-grade students at RMS are enrolled in a music class of their choice. Incoming students who wish to enroll in vocal music just need to sign up for choir.

Students are able to participate in music on both an instrument and in choir. If a child is interested in this option, they should choose an instrument and participate in one or more of the extracurricular RMS choir options such as show choir and the spring musical.

All questions may be directed to Theresa Janke Oestreicher at the number and extension listed earlier in this article.
