NEW BERN, N.C. (AP) _ A Marine helicopter on a night training mission crashed into the Atlantic Ocean, military officials said Thursday. The two crew members were rescued.

The AH-1W Super Cobra went down Wednesday night in the Atlantic near Pamlico Sound, off the northeastern North Carolina coast.

Capt. John W. Selby, 33, of Reseda, Calif., and Capt. Dennis C. Derienzo, 27, of Old Beth Page, N.Y., were taken to Cherry Point Naval Hospital for treatment.

Marine spokesman Lt. Stewart Upton said Selby was released from the hospital Thursday. Derienzo was kept for further treatment.

Officials said the helicopter was attached to Marine Medium Helicopter Squadron 365, also known as the Blue Knights. It is based at New River.
