ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (AP) _ Stephane Lecat of France won the Atlantic City Around the Island Marathon Swim on Saturday in a course-record 6, hours, 54 minutes.

Lecat, 29, won the race for the second time, beating American Mark Leonard by 4:23 in the 22.5-mile swim around Absecon Island. Germany’s Britta Kamrau won the women’s division in 7:35:28.

Race officials reversed the course for this year’s race, the only U.S. event in the FINA World Cup Marathon tour, giving swimmers a counterclockwise route.
