Child hit while riding bike in St. Charles Township
ST. CHARLES TOWNSHIP – Kane County Sheriff’s officers continue to search for the driver of a pickup truck who struck a 7-year-old girl who was riding a bicycle near her home at 1 p.m. Sunday on Geneva Avenue near the intersection of Courier Avenue in St. Charles Township.
The girl was flown from the scene to Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge with injuries that were potentially life-threatening, according to an updated news release from the Kane County Sheriff’s Office.
According to the release, a black Dodge pickup was traveling on Geneva Avenue when it struck the girl. The truck fled the scene but was located abandoned a few blocks from the location.
It is believed the driver fled the area on foot. The driver is described as a white male, 5’6, about 120 pounds with a pony tail and wearing tan pants.
