Viagra Stolen at Venezuelan Port
CARACAS, Venezuela (AP) _ A shipment of the anti-impotence drug Viagra earmarked for drug trials was stolen at Caracas’ main sea port.
The stolen Viagra will likely feed ``a dangerous black market,″ said Dr. Hugo Davila, president of the Venezuela Urological Society.
The pills disappeared from the port of La Guaira, just north of Caracas, during the past week, said a police source who spoke Thursday on condition of anonymity. Customs agents may have been involved in the theft, the source said.
The size of the shipment was not immediately known.
The drug is fetching about $17 per pill on the black market, compared to the legal price in the United States of $10 a pill.
