New staff on MCC agenda

August 19, 2018

SCOTTVILLE — Three new teachers could be joining the Mason County Central family Monday if the school board votes to approve the recommendations of district administrators.

Jason Stanick will be recommended to the board to fill a vacant secondary science teaching position by MCC High School Principal Jeff Tuka, while Jonathan Hackey will be recommended for a middle school social studies teaching position by Rob Dennis, newly hired principal of the middle school.

MCC Superintendent Jeff Mount wrote in the notes for Monday’s meeting that Stanick would replace industrial technology teacher Steve Osborn and Hackey would fill the vacancy left by former seventh-grade social studies teacher Phil Quinlan, who recently accepted a position at Gateway to Success Academy.

Dennis will also recommend that the board hire Janelle Kelly as a middle school English and language arts (ELA) teacher.
