Ruth V. Elliott, 100, of Watseka, passed away Wednesday (Sept. 5, 2018) at her home.
She was born April 12, 1918, in Danforth, the daughter of Frank and Laura Anderson Zeedyk.
Ruth married Patrick Elliott Jr. on Sept. 16, 1939, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Gilman. He preceded her in death Jan. 25, 2001. She also was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Linda Ahlden; one great-grandson, Joshua Pawlicki; one brother, Russell Zeedyk; and sisters and brothers-in-law, Hazel (Wayne) Shumway, Marge (Tom) Zick, Delores Tilstra, Wayne Zick and Wayne Lee.
Surviving are one son, Rick (Nancy) Elliott, of Watseka; two daughters, Pam Rivas, of Deland, Fla., and Rebecca Kizanis, of Bothell, Wash.; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Marian Zick, of Savoy, and Fran Lee, of Onarga; and one sister-in-law, June Zeedyk.
Ruth was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church in Watseka. She was a loving wife and mother who faithfully brought her children up in the way of the Lord.
Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, until the 11 a.m. funeral service at Calvary Lutheran Church in Watseka. The Rev. Donald Love will officiate. Burial will follow in Flesher Cemetery in Crescent City.
Memorials may be made to Calvary Lutheran Church Preschool, Iroquois Memorial Hospice or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
