2 men indicted on charges related to Boston boat accident
BOSTON (AP) — Two Boston men have been indicted on charges related to a boating accident in which a young woman lost her arm in the propeller.
Prosecutors say 33-year-old Benjamin Urbelis, of Charlestown, and 24-year-old Alexander Williams, of the West End, were indicted Wednesday on charges of negligent operation of a boat, furnishing alcohol to minors and other offenses.
Officials said 13 people were aboard the Naut Guilty pleasure boat in Boston Harbor on May 30, including nine women ages 19 to 22 and four men in their 30s.
Authorities said in June that Williams was operating the boat and “negligently moved the boat in the direction of the victim.” His lawyer said he was trying to save the woman in the water.
Both face arraignment in July.
