City Manager to Speak at Dinner

TEWKSBURY -- Lowell City Manager Eileen Donoghue will be the guest speaker at next month’s Northern Middlesex Council of Governments annual meeting and dinner. The event is scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 17 at the Tewksbury Country Club, located at 1880 Main St. The reception will begin at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $35 per person. Monthly meeting for Democrats

GROTON -- The Groton Democratic Town Committee will hold its monthly meeting at 4 p.m. on Sept. 29 at Legion Hall, 75 Hollis St. There will be a conversation on the elections, current events, and preparing for the November election. Chevrolet donates to soccer

LOWELL -- Lannan Chevrolet of Lowell is partnering with the Lowell Youth Soccer Association, providing them with new equipment and free instructional clinics. This is the ninth year for Chevrolet’s Youth Soccer program.

The Lowell Youth Soccer Association will receive an equipment kit, which includes a backpack, ball bags, dome goals, T-shirts and more. Lannan Chevrolet of Lowell will also present a check to the Lowell Youth Soccer Association.

“Playing the game of soccer helps kids develop skills like leadership, cooperation, and sportsmanship while bringing families and communities together to show their support. Polish Cultural Comm. program

LOWELL -- The Lowell Polish Cultural Committee on Sept. 30 is sponsoring a program about the Polish Center of Discovery at Elms College in Chicopee. Stas Radosz, center director, will present the story of this museum and its rich collections. The free event is at 2 p.m. at the Polish National Home, 10 Coburn St., Lowell.
