Man pleads not guilty in fatal motorcycle crash
BROCKTON, Mass. (AP) — A Massachusetts man charged in connection to a fatal motorcycle crash has pleaded not guilty.
The Enterprise reports 58-year-old Michael Riley, of Bridgewater, was arraigned Thursday morning in Brockton District Court.
Riley was charged with motor vehicle homicide by negligent operation and failure to yield his pickup truck in the May 25 crash that resulted in the death of then 31-year-old Cory Smith.
Charges were brought after security footage outside of a barber shop close to the scene captured the crash.
Carl Smith, Cory Smith’s father, says no matter what the verdict, it won’t “bring Cory back.”
The judge has also suspended Riley’s license and ordered him not operate a motor vehicle. His next court date is Nov. 7.
