Hofstra Athlete Pleads Guilty in Rape Case
MINEOLA, N.Y. (AP) _ A Hofstra football player pleaded guilty Thursday to raping a female student on the campus athletic field last October.
Peter Martocci faces up to four years in prison when he is sentenced June 12.
District Attorney Denis Dillon said the 6-foot-3, 290-pound player admitted he had sexual intercourse with the woman without her consent.
Martocci was automatically suspended him from the team when he was charged with the felony. The 20-year-old offensive lineman from Sayville has played little at Hofstra.
