CHEYENNE, Wyo. _ An all-Republican Wyoming legislative committee defeated a GOP-backed bill Tuesday that would have prevented voters from changing party affiliation in the months before a primary, but the panel advanced a Democrat’s proposal to institute ranked-choice voting. The party-affiliation bill sought to discourage people from switching parties in order to vote in another party’s primary. _ UNEMPLOYMENT RATE _ Wyoming’s unemployment rate remains at 4.1 percent. The Wyoming Department of Workforce Services reported Tuesday no change in the rate between November and December.
DENVER _ Struggling with his jumper, Denver Nuggets point guard Monte Morris was gum-ho for a change. So over the offseason he wedged a wrapper from a stick of gum in between his thumb and fingers on his guide hand to keep it closer together. The spearmint experiment worked.
