Holy Cross ends Lutheran South Academy’s season, 14-7
SAN ANTONIO — Lutheran South Academy saw its banner season come to an end Friday night as San Antonio Holy Cross took a 14-7 victory in a TAPPS bi-district football game.
The Pioneers (8-3) scored their only touchdown with 10:53 left in the game on a 64-yard pass from Luke Harrison to Joel Hutchins.
San Antonio Holy Cross took a 7-0 lead in the first quarter on Ethan Lara’s 5-yard run. That score also served as the halftime score.
Holy Cross then widened its lead to 14-0 in the third quarter on a 4-yard run by Lara, who carried 19 times for 152 yards.
Harrison led the Pioneers with 72 yards rushing on 12 carries while completing 14 of 28 passes for 211 yards. Beau Psencik added 46 yards rushing on eight carries for LSA.
Hutchins had five receptions for 113 yards, Jake Justice had five catches for 34 yards, and Wes Lauer added two receptions for 57 yards.
Holy Cross had no passing yardage on just three attempts through the air.
LSA was hurt by two lost fumbles, the only turnovers in the game.
