Woman thinks she has fake knife, stabs friend at Tennessee haunted house

NASHVILLE, Tennessee — Police are investigating after a woman visiting a haunted house stabbed her friend with a knife she thought was fake after it was given to her by a worker at the attraction.

The employee at Nashville Nightmare has been placed on leave after the incident, which left James “Jay” Yochim with a stab wound in his left forearm, The Tennessean reports.

Yochim tells The Tennessean he was visiting the haunted house on Friday with a group of friends.

According to ABC 10, Yochim and other members of his group were waiting outside Nashville Nightmare when a person they believed worked there approached them.

Yochim says they were joking with the worker when the employee handed his female friend a knife and told her to stab him in retribution for being teased.

“Keep in mind, we’d been chased by chainsaws, holding other weapons, all kinds of stuff all night, and it was all fake,” Yochim tells the Tennessean. “So she stabs at me with it, and everything got really black.”

The knife went through his forearm but missed major arteries and bones. The wound required nine stitches.

No charges have been filed as the incident remains under investigation by both police and Nashville Nightmare, reports say.
