Justice gives state workers day off, courts and city follow
CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) — Multiple government buildings across West Virginia are closed for the day.
The Kanawha County Courthouse, the state Supreme Court and Huntington City Hall will be shut down Friday after Gov. Jim Justice made the day an official state holiday for public employees.
Justice issued a statement announcing his executive order, saying “there’s so much going on in West Virginia this weekend, I want to encourage everyone to get out and explore our beautiful state.”
