Donna M. Ludeman
Donna M. Ludeman, 58, Lake Mills, died on Friday, Dec. 21, 2018, as a result of an automobile accident.
She was born on Jan. 17, 1960, in Joliet, Illinois, the daughter of the late Stanley and Violet (Mosel) Yunker. Donna grew up on a dairy farm which began her love of animals, especially Holsteins.
In 1978, she graduated from Minooka High School and later earned her bachelor degree in animal science from the Illinois State University in Normal.
Donna married Jay Ludeman on Sept. 5, 1981. She had been lab manager at Alta Genetics in Watertown. She was a member of the Lake Mills United Methodist Church, past leader of the Rock Lake Troopers 4-H and dairy promotion leader. She had also been director of the Teddy Bear Daycare for 5-6 years.
Donna loved her Labs. She enjoyed cooking, volleyball, soccer, bowling and snowshoeing through the woods with her dogs. She especially liked to ski both in the snow and on the water. She looked forward to her ski weekends that included baking her famous homemade sweet rolls.
Survivors include her husband of 37 years, Jay of Lake Mills; one son, Matthew of Waterloo; one daughter, Jaymie (William) Ownbey of Colorado; one grandson, Alexander Elliott Ownbey; her siblings, Leslie (Clara) Yunker of Plainfield, Illinois, Elaine (Russell) Peppers of Champaign, Illinois, Melvin (Sharon) Yunker of Rose Creek, Minnesota, Larry (Sandy) Yunker of Rose Creek, Minnesota, Marilyn (Gerry) Hausem of Dixon, Kentucky; mother and father-in-law, Ann and Ron Ludeman of Sugarland, Texas; one sister-in-law, Lee Hawkins of Wheatland, Wyoming; 17 nieces and nephews; 29 great-nieces and -nephews; other relatives and friends.
Also preceded in death by two uncles, Ervin Mosel and Elmer Mosel; two nephews, Jason Watson and Douglas Peppers; one great-nephew, Thomas Watson; and one brother-in-law, Jack Hawkins.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 31, at the Lake Mills United Methodist Church.
Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. on Sunday at the Lake Mills United Methodist Church and also after 10 a.m. on Dec. 31 at the church until the time of service.
If desired, memorials would be appreciated to the American Heart Association.
