SYDNEY, Australia (AP) _ Cycling Australia said Thursday that Australian Graham Sharman will be banned from the sport for two years after he tested positive for a muscle-boosting anabolic drug.

The association said the result was discovered in an out-of-competition sample taken by the Australian Sports Drug Agency on June 15.

Sharman is the husband of Lucy Tyler-Sharman, an American-born cyclist who took Australian citizenship before winning the world championship in the 3,000-meter individual pursuit in 1998. Tyler-Sharman returned to the United States last year after a dispute with Cycling Australia.

Sharman was trying to on the come back for the 2004 Athens Olympics after having a disagreement with the Australian team before the 1998 world championships.
