DESECRATED GRAVES

Relatives of people buried at a Bridgeport cemetery where gravestones were removed to make way for new bodies have been left the daunting task of making sure the remains of everyone buried there are where they are supposed to be. Police are investigating. UPCOMING: 500 words, photos.

PATRIOTS-IMPROVED DEFENSE

Earlier this season opponents took advantage of a New England defense that struggled to get pressure up front and was susceptible to giving up big plays in the secondary. The Patriots appear to be tightening up at the right time. New England’s defense has not allowed a 300-yard passer in five-straight games.
