Pataki, Bush Bet on Stanley Cup
ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) _ New York Gov. George Pataki is willing to bet some of Buffalo’s famous chicken wings that the Buffalo Sabres will beat the Dallas Stars for the Stanley Cup.
Pataki made the bet Monday with Texas Gov. George W. Bush, who put up some of Texas barbecue and brisket against 100 of the wings and a dozen ``Beef on Weck″ sandwiches.
Beef on weck is a roast beef sandwich slathered in gravy and horseradish on a salty roll.
Pataki holds a 1-0 record over Bush after the New York Yankees beat the Texas Rangers in the 1996 American League Championship Series.
The Stanley Cup series begins Tuesday in Dallas.
