Vermont community to host solar array on town land
WILMINGTON, Vt. (AP) — Officials in the southern Vermont town of Wilmington say tree clearing could begin soon for a nearly 150-kilowatt solar project on town-owned land.
The Brattleboro Reformer reports construction on the array itself is expected to begin in the spring.
Wilmington Zoning Administrator Craig Ohlson says the site is next to the closed and capped landfill at the town transfer station.
Ralph Meima, director of development for Green Lantern Corporation, says there are some final easement issues that need to be worked out with the town.
The Vermont Public Utility Commission issued a permit for the project in September.
