Frank, Holzman named ambassadors
WASHINGTON (AP) _ President Clinton nominated five career diplomats to ambassadorial posts Thursday.
Ralph Frank of the District of Columbia is Clinton’s choice as ambassador to the Nepal. He has served in numerous overseas positions, including Yugoslavia, Indonesia and Poland.
John Holzman of Hawaii was nominated to be ambassador to Bangladesh. His State Department assignments have included the Office of Development Finance, the Office of Israel and Arab-Israeli Affairs, and the Office of Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh Affairs, where he was the director. He has served as deputy chief of mission in Pakistan since 1994.
Clinton also nominated:
_Timberlake Foster to be ambassador to Mauritania.
_Nancy J. Powell to be ambassador to Uganda.
_Amelia Ellen Shippy as ambassador to Malawi.
