Marvin Groth, 92, formerly of Waupun

Marvin Richard Groth, 92, formerly of Waupun, passed away Monday, Dec. 31, 2018, at Hillside Manor in Beaver Dam.

Marvin was born Dec. 6, 1926, in Germantown, a son of Gerhard and Frieda (Krueger) Groth. On Nov. 19, 1955, he was united in marriage to Lois Hensel in Plymouth. Marvin was raised on the farm and worked with the Germantown Highway Department for 22 years. He was a member of Pella Lutheran Church.

Marvin is survived by his wife, Lois; three daughters, Sandra (Timothy) Sallach of Oakfield, Sally (Robert) Wehner of Hubertus and Vicki (Michael) O’Shea of Coloma; 10 grandchildren, Stephen (Valori) Sallach, Heidi (Matthew) Lorfeld, Natalie (Ben) Kozar, Paula (Fouad) Chabba, Daniel Sallach (Mindy Mason), Kelley Cybela, Chloe (Carmine) Calabrese, Jeremy O’Shea (Melissa Meyer), Scott O’Shea and Bruce (Kyra) O’Shea; 11 great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Inez (Bob) Triebensee; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Gary Groth, in infancy; one great-granddaughter, Ruby Kozar; one sister, Esther, in infancy; and one sister, Gertrude (Kenneth) Kaschner.

Visitation will be held from 9-11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 5, at Pella Lutheran Church, 315 South Madison Street, Waupun.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, Jan. 5, at 11 a.m. at church with the Rev. David Knuth officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Mound Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pella Lutheran Church.
