Beaver Dam boy hit by vehicle, airlifted to hospital
An 8-year-old Beaver Dam boy was transported by helicopter to a Madison hospital after he was hit by a vehicle in the 1400 block of North Center Street in Beaver Dam on Tuesday after school.
Beaver Dam Police Lt. Scott Bahr said a 911 call came in at 3:56 p.m. The child was not crossing at the crosswalk and instead ran into traffic, where he was struck by a northbound vehicle. A witness at the scene said the driver, from Beaver Dam, was not able to stop in time.
“The boy was conscious at the scene and was able to tell the paramedics where his injuries were at,” Bahr said.
The boy was transported by Beaver Dam EMS to Beaver Dam Community Hospital. He was then taken by Med Flight to a hospital in Madison.
The driver was not ticketed for the crash.
