SAN FRANCISCO (AP) _ Paul Hagen of the Philadelphia Daily News was elected president of the Baseball Writers Association of America on Wednesday.

Drew Olson of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel was elected vice president and Jack O’Connell of the Hartford Courant remained secretary-treasurer in voting conducted at a BBWAA meeting before Game 4 of the World Series.

Mike Bernadino of the Fort Lauderdale Sun-Sentinel, Bill Center of the San Diego Union Tribune, Bob Dutton of the Kansas City Star and Jason Reid of the Los Angeles Times were named to the organization’s board of directors.
