DUI WITH CHILD: A man is accused of driving under the influence with a minor in the vehicle after police responded to a man-down call around 9:10 p.m. Thursday in the 2800 block of 5th Avenue in Huntington.
According to the criminal complaint, police made contact with a woman “slumped over” in the passenger seat of a vehicle parked at the location with her 7-year-old child sitting in the back seat. The woman told police she had snorted heroin at approximately 8:30 p.m.
The second suspect, identified as Dennis Ray Cook, 39, was inside the location attempting to purchase food. The complaint states Cook admitted to being impaired at a level of “five or six” when police asked how impaired he was on a scale of one to 10.
Cook has been convicted of two previous DUIs, one in Ohio in 2014 and one in West Virginia in 2012.

The female suspect was also jailed at that time and charged with misdemeanor child neglect.
