Havasu man arrested on auto theft charges
A Lake Havasu City man was arrested Saturday on charges of theft of a means of transportation. According to the police report, Glenn A. Baker, 59, was wanted on charges of felony probation violation when the Lake Havasu City Police Department’s street crimes unit received a tip that he was at a Tovar Lane residence.
Baker was not found at the residence on Friday, police said, but a neighbor said she allowed him to drive her minivan on Oct. 31 because his own vehicle was inoperable. She did not know where Baker was, nor could she contact him, the police report said. The neighbor was told to contact officers and report the vehicle stolen if it was not returned.
The victim reported her vehicle stolen that evening, and officers located Baker on Saturday. According to the police, Baker denied stealing the vehicle, allegedly stating that he had permission from the vehicle’s owner to drive it.
Baker was transported to Lake Havasu City Jail without incident.
