Cleveland Heights police searching for man who robbed Walgreens

CLEVELAND, Ohio — Cleveland Heights police are searching for a man who robbed a drug store Monday morning, authorities said. 

Investigators said a man walked in to the Walgreens on Mayfield Road at 8:21 a.m. and sat items on the counter for the cashier, Cleveland Heights police said. 

The man pulled out a handgun and demanded money, and the cashier gave him an undisclosed amount of cash, police said.

The unidentified man was last seen running toward Cumberland Park. It’s unknown how much money the man ran away with.

Officers searched the neighborhood and requested Boulevard Elementary School go on lockdown as they scoured the area, officials said.
