NEW YORK (AP) _ Fire King took the lead on the far turn and drew away to a three-length victory Friday in Belmont Park's $57,000 allowance feature.

Carrying apprentice Rachel Lavoy as the odds-on favorite, Fire King covered one mile in 1:36.4 to earn $34,200 for John Rotella. It was the sixth win in 14 starts this year for the 7-year-old horse by Fast Play from the Fire Dancer mare Princess Fire.

Lager was second in a field of six 3-year-olds and up. Gold Star Deputy finished third.

Fire King returned $4.30, $2.70 and $2.10. Lager paid $2.90 and $2.20. Gold Star Deputy was $2.50 to show.
