PHOENIX (AP) _ Sprouts Farmers Market Inc. (SFM) on Thursday reported second-quarter profit of $41.7 million.

On a per-share basis, the Phoenix-based company said it had net income of 32 cents.

The results met Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of nine analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was also for earnings of 32 cents per share.

The natural and organic food retailer posted revenue of $1.32 billion in the period, also meeting Street forecasts.

Sprouts Farmers expects full-year earnings to be $1.24 to $1.28 per share.

Sprouts Farmers shares have declined 13 percent since the beginning of the year. The stock has decreased 12 percent in the last 12 months.
