State patrol reminds you of free CRAKE program

August 21, 2018

NORFOLK - As school and workplace shootings almost becoming a norm, the Nebraska State Patrol offers a free program to help in an unfortunate situation.

Troop B Trooper Gena Jones says The Civilian Response to Active Killer Events (CRAKE) program is free training the patrol offers to businesses and community members.

“With the events going on the world and unfortunately could happen locally, we want to make sure people can respond correctly to those events and save lives” Jones said.

“We’re not going to come in and say this is exactly what you have to do every time, mainly this is opening minds to think what would you do and we want to help in guiding you” Jones added.

She says they like to have attendees be 17 years of age and older.

Jones says they usually bring the training on site to whoever requests it.

Any school, business, or organization interested in requesting a CRAKE presentation from the Nebraska State Patrol can reach out to their local troop area office.
