Your Turn: Aug. 10

Less coverageSince the president harbors such disdain for the press — but thrives on the attention he receives — it may be a good idea for the news networks to cut back on the coverage they afford him. They should not display his “tweets” or cover his rallies. Maybe even ask fewer questions of his press secretary (since she just reinforces his lies and ugly remarks). The only news coverage should be what is absolutely necessary. Also, it appears that the people behind him at the rallies are either being paid or have a desire to be seen on TV.Audrey DlugoszSick daysInstead of just granting days for sick leave and allowing the employees to do whatever they want, require the employees to prove that they were under a doctor’s care to qualify for the sick days.Richard WallishYes, toooo farRe: “Going too far,” Your Turn, Saturday:Says the writer, “Ever since the people of the South were defeated, they’ve became (sic) a docile, friendly people who don’t want to make any trouble.”Yep. That definitely is the description that comes to mind when recalling the KKK and the Edmund Pettus Bridge, site of the Bloody Sunday attack on civil rights marchers on March 7, 1965.Dave Searcey
