LAWSON “PA” DALTON
LAWSON”PA”DALTON,84, of Huntington, W.Va., departed this life on Saturday, December 22, 2018, in St. Mary’s Medical Center, Huntington. He was born May 8, 1934, in Harts, W.Va., a son of the late Melvin and Brook Tomblin Dalton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Ann Dalton, and five brothers and sisters, Agnes, Gretel, Thural, Walter and James “Jimmy.” Pa loved living life. His happiest days were spent with the love of his life, Barb. He enjoyed digging ginseng and mushrooms while hiking the woods and supporting his children and grandchildren in all they do. Pa was a proud veteran of the United States Army. Those left to cherish his memory include five daughters, Angelia Iris (T.E.) Hamilton, Sarahbeth (Jamie) Bailey, Tessa (Jake) Norris and the twins, Eva Allen and Phyllis Walker; two sons, Lawson Clark Dalton and Grover Arles (Tammy) Dalton; one sister, Beulah; three brothers, Dallas Dalton, Peter Dalton and Walker “Fatty”; 13 grandchildren, Tara Cumbee, Nichole Hilthon, Miles Hilthon, Jame Butts, Christopher Butts, Detra Vivod, Jordan Dalton, Brandon Arles Dalton, T.J. Hamilton, Tanner Hamilton, Dalton Bailey, Kenya Arie Bailey and Brynleigh Midkiff; 10 great-grandchildren, Timmy Slate, Kendra Vivod, Riley Dalton, Hannah, Phoebe Ann and Elise Cumbee, Emma and Joshua Butts and Braylon Gage and Zeppelin Colt Dalton; and his dear friend, Martha Wellman. Services will be noon Saturday, December 29, 2018, at Freeman Funeral Home, Chapmanville, W.Va., with Pastor Donald Manns officiating. Burial will follow at the Dalton Family Cemetery, Dunlow, W.Va. Visitation will be on Saturday, December 29, 2018, from 11 a.m. to noon at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Grover Dalton, T.J. Tanner Hamilton, T.E. Hamilton, Jamie Bailey, Scott Dalton, Dalton Bailey and Josh Butts. Freeman Funeral Home, Chapmanville, W.Va., is in charge of arrangements.
