Republicans don’t plan to offer up a candidate for Maine’s top law enforcement official in the nation’s only attorney general race decided by lawmakers. Democrats Sen. Mike Carpenter, Sen. Mark Dion, Rep. Aaron Frey, lawyer Tim Shannon and Kennebec County District Attorney Maeghan Maloney are in the running for attorney general. Republicans don’t plan to nominate a candidate.
