Officials suspend day care following infant’s death
WATERTOWN, Mass. (AP) — Massachusetts education officials have closed a day care following the death of an infant.
WBZ-TV reports the state Department of Early Education and Care revoked Strawberry Child Care’s license to operate and suspended the Watertown facility Monday.
Officials say a five-month-old girl died after she was found unresponsive at the center Sept. 13. State investigators say workers didn’t give the girl CPR.
The state Department of Early Education and Care said in a letter the center “placed infants and children at risk by failing to administer CPR during an infant’s medical emergency.”
Strawberry Child Care has been ordered to provide a list of all the children enrolled at the day care within the last six months. The facility can appeal the suspension.
