Woman killed in house fire on Long Island
BAY SHORE, N.Y. (AP) — A woman has been killed in a house fire on Long Island.
Suffolk County police say the blaze broke out Sunday evening in Bay Shore.
They say a woman had called 911 to report that her house was on fire. Firefighters responded and got the woman out. She was taken to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Police say the woman was the only one in the house at the time of the fire. They have not released her name.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation, but police say it does not appear to be criminal in nature.
