DOT to improve safety on Rte 8 Bank Street exit and entrance ramps in Seymour
SEYMOUR - Changes will be coming to the on and off ramps of exit 22 on Route 8.
The Department of Transportation will enhance the visibility of the curve near exit 22 which is Bank Street by installing new signs and relocating the exiting warning sign. The DOT will also install retroreflective delineators on the media barrier.
The improvements come as a result of efforts made by State Rep. Nicole Klarides-Ditria, who began by writing a letter to the DOT last year asking them to review the safely of the on and off ramps which lead and take drivers from the town’s business district.
“I received many complaints that exit 22 on Route 8 was unsafe,” Klarides-Ditria said. “I want to thank the Department of Transportation for reviewing this matter and making the necessary improvements to the area to prevent accidents and keep residents safe.”
